Horizontal learning exchanges

Horizontal learning is a process that facilitate movement building and explore alternative forms of production other that the dominant corporate driven chemical industrial model. Horizontal learning happens at a local, national and international level where small-scale farmers can learn from each other and share experiences. It seeks to further build an emancipatory practice among small-scale farmers and the landless. These include exchanges with movements and farmers within Namibia and the MST in Brazil where farmers were spending some time with movements and learning both at the level of building a movement but also focusing on learning and sharing of alternative production techniques. The process thus allows learning to occur in a non-hierarchal manner between farmers and activists.
